Biomass production (algae production)

One of the most interesting sectors in which CHIGI44® technology can be used is in algae production.
Algae production is at the centre of a large number of studies and projects, which highlight its benefits not only in feeding people and animals, but also in producing biofuels and natural fertilisers and in reducing CO2 levels in the atmosphere.

Algae absorb a large amount of CO2 and convert it into oleic by-products (which can be converted into biofuels) and oxygen. Furthermore, algae can grow 12 times faster than terrestrial plants and produce up to 30 times more energy per hectare than soybeans or corn.

The uses of Algae therefore have huge potential. CHIGI44® can be used effectively for algae growing, by feeding CO2 into the system instead of oxygen.
