THE CHIGI ^® BREATHING WATER TECHNOLOGY IN FIGURES

Combined with the use of oxygen, CHIGI44® technology can treat civil and industrial wastewater with an 80% reduction in energy and machinery costs compared to conventional technologies, while simultaneously improving oxidation performance.

The diameter of the microbubbles produced by the CHIGI44® system varies between 0.75 mm and 1.2mm. Diameters remain constant in a pressure range from 0.05 bar to 8 bar and above. The microbubbles do not change shape even in the event of rapid changes in air pressure. The contact surface generated is about 6000-7000 m2/m3 and this represents a huge improvement in the oxygen transfer process.

Bubbles' size directly affects the speed at which they rise through the water. The very low upward pressures exerted on the microbubbles are very low. This means that the convective flows produced by the air and by the currents generated by the fish in the tank are enough to carry them along. This generates a very long immersion time, which combines with the large contact surface for unrivalled oxygen transfer efficiency.
